On a lighter note, I had high hopes for a more musical papal successor than Benedict!
From 2015. The to-do in Ottawa over Muslim women’s garb inspired a sideways comment about the famously inaccessible Prime Minister Harper.
The sketchbook surveys were a favourite of readers. This one addressed the proposed teaching of Intelligent Design in British Columbian schools. Sorry for the small, possibly unreadable, type!
This toon on a future holy war was inspired by a quote attributed to Einstein: “I do not know with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”
And finally, a nod to a metaphysical belief system I can get behind: agnosticism. A nonexistent group for a nonexistent poster on a real-world bus. (The word “maybe” is way underrated for everything.)
The entire theology of the Society of Friends (Quakers) is a page and a half long. It contains this admirable sentence:
Remember, you could be mistaken.

Maybe we're all guilty of thinking we know something when we don't. Maybe there should be a MAYBE movement...
