This one from 2016 had no best-before date. The doctrine of “lesser evilism” ensures American voters will be offered a Coke/Pepsi choice every election cycle until there is a serious threat of a third party challenge.
A bit of reworked Ancient Greek mythology, also from 2016. As you can probably guess, I was never a fan of the war-friendly Hillary, who laughed over the death of Libyan president Gaddafi (“We came, we saw, he died ha ha ha”). Terrifyingly, it took no extreme makeover to render her as the snake-tressed Medusa - just a bit of Photoshopping of her expression and some Caravaggio-painted serpents. As a bonus, I got a chance to portray Trump as a horse’s ass…er, I mean centaur.
This one’s a bit wordy, but I felt compelled to share the figures. Tragically, I don’t expect they have changed greatly since 2017.
My first but hopefully not last opportunity to lampoon Prince Charles.
The monarchy, a vestige of the feudal past lumbering on in the digital age, is always parody-friendly!
As with some of the other toons, this one from 2014 is still relevant. I went the Lord of the Rings route with a pic taken from the rooftop of the Rockefeller Centre in New York.
Another fossil fuel-related piece, addressing news reports some years back about oil-drenched ducks recovered from Alberta tailings ponds. A takeoff on Marvel Comic’s Swamp-Thing, this one had pretty good feedback.
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper turning down a peace pipe.
Until the reign of Justin Trudeau’s Liberals, the Progressive Conservatives under Harper were the masters in eroding privacy rights. So again, this one still works…if you swap out the party logos!
Fantastic work, Geoff. Thank you!
An amazing feat of time travel tales when nothing changes except the labels...and best of all, it's totally Canadian!
