Inappropriate Film Titles…Fixed!
Revisionist Hollywood history in the service of diversity, equity and inclusion
A friend who works in the BC school system tells me that staff are “being encouraged to use “gender neutral” language...no more saying, ‘hey ladies’ or ‘hey guys.’ She describes this as “infuriating.”
I responded that within a short time, using ‘guys’, ‘ladies,’ and the like in everyday conversation may be considered offensive, if not punishable, breaches.
Another friend jumped into the exchange, comically predicting a Hollywood remake of “Guys and Dolls” as “Persons and Persons.”
And with that, my friends had supplied me with the idea for this Substack: revising film titles of the past so they are more ‘with the times.’
“12 Angry Men” becomes…
“The Elephant Man” becomes…
“Attack of the 50 Foot Woman” becomes…
“Ben Hur” becomes…
Are there any other film titles you think can be improved for sensitive and caring moviegoers? Leave your suggestions in the comments!
Oh wait, one more! Inspired by recent news.
“Snow White” becomes….
Story here. Satire is dead!
Have you heard the 4th most popular hip hop track during 'Pride Month' criticizing the LA Dodgers support of an anti-Catholic group of drag 'nuns' called the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence referencing Deuteronomy 22:5 called "Reclaim the Rainbow?" Some lines: "It's written in the first book of Genesis, 'till Satan perverted it" and "They turned the rainbow to sin, but they don't even know what it means" and "who's gonna stand up for God?" and "I got a rainbow on my neck, and I can't breathe." Give a listen and watch the video. I think you will agree....💟✝️💟
Brilliantly done! 😂😂
