Comment on the toon
Every year the World Economic Forum hosts a gathering of global business leaders and politicians in Davos, Switzerland. In 2016, WEF host Klaus Schwab feted the recently elected Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who shared his support for Schwab’s beloved “fourth industrial revolution” (which sounds suspiciously like “forced industrial revolution” in the host’s pronunciation).
The Canadian PM got a chance to display his fealty to the transnational neoliberal agenda while getting his ego stroked before the world’s movers and shakers. He’s part of a big club now, and needless to say you’re not in it.
Schwab is one of the leading impresarios for the .001 percent and a carnival barker for regulatory capture. He has spoken enthusiastically of the WEF “Young Global Leaders” program and its ability to “penetrate the cabinets” of governments worldwide, including Canada. But when it comes to Trudeau, I don’t think Schwab is like Commissioner Gordon sending signals to Batman (or in this case, Buttboy). While the PM certainly follows the Schwabian program of a Great Reset, it seems unlikely he takes direct orders from the man himself, an idea that has gained traction online. That said, I hardly think Trudeau makes his big decisions autonomously, without consultation.
In any case, I couldn’t resist portraying the Canuck leader as compliant pet stroked by a nattily-dressed supervillain obsessed with advanced technology. It’s not like there haven’t been precedents!
Thanks Geoff; now I won't have to comment on the invented national crisis and why Justin isn't like his father though this is clearly a case of trying to 'measure up'...and failing miserably. I just love living in a police state...
Ha. I love it when the trolls come out to play.
