Perhaps most unnerving is how Americans seems paralyzed, in thrall of their leader: a psychopath flailing about at the top of a political dung heap. It has been a long time coming. And here we are. An exponential crime spree.

I totally agree with you Geoff.

How can Trump do these things without approval from Congress? I hope his days are numbered bur that is wishful thinking!

Glad we agree on SOMETHING, Barb (other than music)! In any case, this isn’t the first time congress hasn’t approved a wartime move. The last one was Trump’s air attack on Iran. And I believe several of Obama’s wars received no sanction, either. This is something that crosses party lines. You can get a way with anything when you say “national security”!

Prior to this open gangsterism 70% or so Americans were against it. Now it’s the requirement of those 70% to hit the streets ( or storm the White House - or what’s left of it, with pitchforks and torches). This act implicitly validates anything Putin or Israel ever did, ( for America it’s just more of same) and the message to China now is “Taiwan is now yours for the taking”
