Gil Scott Heron…good call, Glen. Looked up the lyrics. Haven’t listened yet, but words great.

Don’t forget MIA’s middle finger, showing that the Super Bowl is not a foolproof filter.

Great list - Radio Baghdad -

diva-stating.

Agents of empire are masters of obfuscation and rewriting history. Words- the ultimate tool of the conspirators. I was reminded of a lyric by Gil Scot Heron.

“And still we are victims of word games

Are now called 'mineral rich.'

And the game goes on eternally

They've been moved to the Middle East

There are examples galore I assure you

But if interpreting were left up to me

I'd be sure every time folks knew this version wasn't mine

Which is why it is called 'His story”

Just a few funny and perhaps pertinent comments here; first being that when recently I was diving into the music of The Stranglers, arriving late to this party for sure, I was delighted by their album "The Gospel According to the Men in Black", which just deserves a listen without comment, so I'll leave it there. The second being that Van Morrison's 1973 song "The Great Deception" to me was incredibly pertinent to the recent Covid "crisis". And finally, and here's a giggle, but just before Covid do you remember the Weird Al-Yancovic posters up all over the city that were kind of Soviet styled with the caption beneath declaring "Attendance is Mandatory". Kind of funny considering how much the word "Mandatory" became bandied about by the elusive "powers that be"; and by how much Trudeau was observed to admire "yer basic dictatorships" of the world.
