Remember those crazy days of pandemic overkill, with headlines screaming about COVID variants that sounded like comic book supervillains? (Omicron, Deltacron, Kraken et.al) Those were the days! Not like they’ve gone away entirely. Have you met “Orthrus”?
In this lineup of viral villainry, the very rarely lethal “monkeypox” never sounded quite scary enough. In fact, it sounded vaguely sitcom-ish, like something George Castanza might catch after falling into a gibbon exhibit at the Bronx zoo. And of course, the name lent itself to the skeptics’ contraction, “moneypox.”
Hence the talk a while back of rebranding the infection. You may recall I had some suggestions at the time. If you don’t, do yourself a solid and reread this…
In any case, the WHO did come up with a new name in November of 2022:
“Mpox”? Doesn’t sound like something that’s going to terrify the normies all over again. Anyways, here’s where things stand now in my neck of the woods…
1400-plus ‘confirmed cases’ across the entire country, and holding. For anyone in the business of mass formation this is disappointing data, to say the least. However, there are signs that there’s still life left in this petri dish of PCR-detected rubbish…
Both mpox doses? Oh well, we’re talking Beyonce here. It’s surely worth a least a baker’s dozen of jabs to see Queen Bey warble and strut. Seriously now, although this is a real tweet from the Chicago Department of Public Health, I could find nothing about mpox on her world tour site. There’s no actual requirement for two of the jabs to attend Beyonce’s Chicago show, although the wording suggests otherwise. A look at chicago.gov/mpox link reveals that:
Anyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can get mpox through close, personal contact with someone who has symptoms of mpox. However, data suggests that the virus has primarily spread among social networks of gay, bisexual, and same gender-loving men through intimate contact. Risk is especially high for same gender-loving men who have multiple or anonymous sexual partners.
Fair enough, I suppose Beyonce has a big fanbase among gays, if not PWPWM (People Who Party With Monkeys). And at the present time the US Center for Disease Control recommends the mpox jab only for the at-risk population, not the general public. According to the agency:
Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) is caused by a virus that is related to the virus that causes smallpox. JYNNEOS is a 2-dose vaccine developed to protect against mpox and smallpox infections. People need to get both doses of the vaccine for the best protection against mpox. The second dose should be given 4 weeks after the first dose.
Also, as of March, 2023:
Two vaccines may be used for the prevention of mpox disease:
JYNNEOS vaccine is approved for the prevention of mpox and smallpox. During the current outbreak, JYNNEOS is the main vaccine being used in the United States.
ACAM2000 vaccine is approved for immunization against smallpox and made available for use against mpox under an Expanded Access Investigational New Drug (EA-IND) protocol.
Beyond the Beyonce Chicago tour alert, there’s other signs that pushing mpox - or rather, mpox vaccination - isn’t going away anytime soon.
3 cases!!
Could renewed concern have anything to do with a new generation of mRNA mpox vaccines in the Big Pharma pipeline? Ironically, according to this May 2023 paper such vaccines will be superior to the existing ones, because…well, cue the “antivax conspiracy” orchestra…
Therefore, two live-attenuated VACV-based vaccines (ACAM2000 and JYNNEOS), initially developed in the smallpox eradication programme, have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration to prevent mpox. However, these vaccines are associated with several serious adverse events (AEs), including myocarditis and pericarditis, especially in certain individual groups such as people with eczema and pregnant women. So far, they are approved only for preexposure prophylaxis among persons at high risk for such exposures rather than general public use. Therefore, new vaccines that are safer, more efficacious, and more specific for mpox are urgently needed to combat the potentially increasing mpox epidemic in the context of worldwide decreasing herd immunity against smallpox. [emphasis mine.]
Yes, we desperately need safer mpox jabs for “general public use”! There will be no myocarditis stigma - at least, not at the beginning - with mpox mRNA gene therapy for young and old, healthy and sick, gay and straight, ka-ching!
But how do you convincingly market a whole new product line to people who got jabbed multiple times for COVID, yet still stubbornly insisted on catching the disease afterwards? People who are becoming more skeptical about the corporate media’s comic book story line of villainous viruses and their superhero mRNA antidotes?
You do that by combining TWO mass fears, involving infectious diseases and climate change. It’s like teaming up Marvel’s Dr. Doom and DC’s Lex Luthor…a cross-marketing, big box office brainstorm!
And the media is all over it…

Weren't Dire Straits a lot like The Stranglers at that time in rock history. All these early rockers seemed to be preternaturally wise, hip to the machinations the deep state, big business and the military industrial complex. The album called "The Gospel According to the Men in Black" by the Stranglers for example, and the one song on "The Raven" album that deals with the same subject matter. Also, an old favorite of mine, the song "Another Invented Disease" by the Manic Street Preachers.
Oh man, have we got Industrial Disease...
